After hearing a lot of complaints especially from younger users
about those "boring" yellow/white prompts in Wildcat Boards
i decided to customize my prompts to show those complainants
that Wildcat offers more than just Message- and File-Handling.
The younger crowd seems to love the color blue for the prompts.
Starting with Wildcat 3.00 the customization was enabled and
i used it extensively, although there were a lot of bugs in
the MKWCTEXT program.
With Wildcat 3.5 Mustang enhanced this program tremendously
and now even the Tomcat prompts can be customized.
The files in this archive contain my customized prompts for
the general Wildcat settings in ASCII-Format and the prompts
for Tomcat in the TCTEXT.DAT format.
(MKWCTEXT displays an Error when loading the TCTEXT.ASC prompts,
although it actually loads them. But to not confuse i decided
to reconvert the Tomcat prompts to the .DAT format)
Files included so far:
WCTEXT.ASC My colorful customized prompts for Wildcat
TCTEXT.DAT My colorful customized prompts for Tomcat
I will update this archive and include my menus somewhere in
the near future. (3-D Menus)
But for now, all you have to do is copy the TCTEXT.DAT to your
home-directory (C:\WC30).
Copy WCTEXT.ASC to your home-directory. (C:\WC30)
Then run MKWCTEXT from your home-directory.
Select the 'Import ASCII-Prompts'
Enter the name 'WCTEXT.ASC'
Save the prompts (do not save them as ASCII-Prompts)
When asked for the name enter WCTEXT.DAT
(This converts the ASCII prompts into the correct format.)
That's all you have to do.
Start up your Wildcat again and the new prompts are there.
(If you don't like the prompts you can always reset to the
default from within MKWCTEXT)
If you like the new prompts just drop me a note on Mustang HQ BBS.

I won't accept any donation.
Or drop a note to those Mustang-folks and just thank them for
doing such a great job with Wildcat!
